Welcome to cacaoBooks! Do you remember the joy of "reading" a wonderfully illustrated book when you were a child? Do you still remember your childhood's favourite book? The purpose of the publishing house cacaoBooks Ltd. is to give the same joy, enthralment, and sense of miracle we felt when we were children to your sons and daughters. We know that good books can improve a child's life. For our love of Arts, we studied and graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts. Our main goal, that is the goal of the founders of cacaoBooks Ltd. publishing house, is to put our artistic qualification at the complete disposal of children to whom we want to give delightfully illustrated and written books which they will keep in mind and which are not easily to be found in bookshops nowadays. We plan and produce our books ourselves. They are by no means books which did not sell at other publishing houses, leftovers of large stocks or recycled books. They are instead originals of cacaoBooks Ltd. whose copyright we possess at 100%. As far as regards the criteria of editing a book, these are no marketing purposes but rather our sincere interest in creating something really beautiful for children. We would like that each of our books were the favourite of a child. Therefore, instead of producing huge quantities of different books, we select the authors with great care and take into consideration the aesthetic quality and affinity to the children's universe. However, our emphasis does not exclusively lie on illustration. The study of the single stories involves the whole publishing house. Together with the book's illustrator, we study every single psychological aspect of the story which is to become a book. The story is indeed an integral part of the book and adds profound significance to the work as a whole. Our mission is to transmit positive traditional and recent values. POETRY One of the most easy aspects to absorb for a child is the poetic world of fairytales. Poetry makes things which are usually difficult to explain much more comprehensible for children because it wraps the child up in a fairytale's unreal and hazy "coat", so to speak. This does not mean that the meaning of a poetic fairytale loses any of its efficiency, it simply renders the child much more demanding for aesthetic qualities. HANDYCAP The book "Little Hen" touches delicately the subject of a little animal's handicap. We are convinced that it can never be too early to make youngster become aware of friendly behaviour towards other creatures' or one's own handicap. The book's author has in fact specialized and works in the field of Ergotherapy and has studied this book with great care from the psychological point of view. ECOLOGY The book "Spino finds a friend" illustrates the power of friendship and unity recurring to the ecological field in an entertaining way. The two animal protagonists illustrate how we can solve our biosphere's impoverishment only by collaborating and working hard together and stresses the fact that it is the biosphere which nourishes us and which permits us to live in its lap. NATURE For children who are no longer small but who have already found their hobbies as, for instance, collecting crystal minerals or similar, we are preparing a whole series from nature (fossils, reptiles, scrolls, shells etc.). The first volume, "The wonderful world of Crystals" , has already been published. With the help of this series, we would like to develop the children's capacity to observe nature and focus their attention on the miracle expressed by every single thing produced by nature. In the illustrations you can admire beauty, perfection, and the workings of nature. RELIGION Religion is one of the most private and personal aspects of life we have. No matter in what region of the world it is practiced, any religion has the aims of making persons better than they are, giving certain regulations as to living together, it helps to see the world not only from a materialistic point of view but to move towards spirituality which again helps to get a better understanding of ourselves. In editions to come, we want to make known the most significant and beautiful stories of diverse religions of the whole world. SELF-ESTEEM, CONFIDENCE A lot of children are afraid of being subject to ridicule by their friends or other people who surround them because of their ideas, dreams, and plans. This creates a feeling of uncertainty and a continuous calling into question of one's own ability which could destroy a child's will to put their plans into practice. Our book "Shelly's great dream" displays, however, that also dreams which seem to be absurd, like a snail flying into space, can be realized. All it requires is the encouragement of a good friend, pursuit of knowledge, will-power, and confidence. Many children were deeply influenced by books from Jules Verne or other writers and, therefore, decided to dedicate themselves in real life to science or to become inventors or explorers of undiscovered territory of the world. These famous writers have put their conviction to reach "impossible" goals into the centre of their lives as well as self-confidence and a profound belief in their ideas. With the help of our illustrated books it is also our aim to start to build up self-confidence in order to obtain a better formation of a child's personality. By playing games and amusing oneself, a child learns to trust one's own innate capacities. MITHOLOGY Other important factors in the formation of a child's personality are the unforgettable stories of great and important family facts or undertakings which, in the course of history, are being told from parents to sons and daughters or which we read in books. In these stories, the protagonist is always regarded as a hero to be imitated, as positive person who accomplishes mythical or almost superhuman deeds. These facts are told from fathers to sons or we get to know them by antique Greek, Roman or other peoples' writers. The myth stimulates in us the desire to create something great, positive, and memorable ourselves as well of which people shall talk for a long time. The first book of our mythical series "The war of Troy" narrates one of the most captivating myths of antique history. However, in future, we want to draw from the mythologies of the peoples of all the world, telling of undertakings equally memorable.
